HomeSt. John the Evangelist is a Catholic parish located in Swampscott, Massachusetts. Established on Christmas morning in 1904, the church was built to serve the growing Catholic population of the town and received its formal dedication on September 3, 1905. The church is named after its first spiritual counselor, Rev. John C. Harrington, who had celebrated Swampscott’s first Mass in 1879. In September 2025, new murals painted by Sacred Artist Michael Corsini were unveiled by Msgr. John McLaughlin, enhancing the church's commitment to the arts.
