HomeSt. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is a Catholic parish with a rich history dating back to its founding in October 1827. Initial discussions by James Lenox and subsequent support from Bishop Benedict J. Fenwick led to the construction of the first church on land provided by industrialist David Wilkinson, with the church opening on August 27, 1828. Under the leadership of Rev. Patrick Delaney, who served from 1853 until his death in 1879, the parish expanded significantly, including the establishment of its first parish school in 1855.
