HomeSt. Julie Billiart Parish, located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, is a Catholic parish established on November 17, 1969. It is recognized as the first parish in the United States dedicated to St. Julie Billiart, following her canonization earlier that year. The parish was formed from parishioners of St. Mary’s in South Dartmouth, St. Lawrence in New Bedford, and St. George in Westport, and was originally served by Rev. John F. Hogan, who oversaw the construction of the church, dedicated by Bishop Daniel A. Cronin on October 11, 1971. The parish has seen significant growth over the years, expanding from 600 families at its inception to over 2,000 families by the early 1990s.
