The parish was formed in 2007 through the merger of the northern parishes of St Oswald King and Martyr and Sacred Heart, with historical roots dating back to the 1940s when Mass was first celebrated on the Paston Lane/Lincoln Road site. Dedicated to St Oswald, whose relic is venerated at Peterborough Cathedral, the parish also features Dorothy's Chapel, built in 1997 at Sacred Heart Primary School, where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved.
