HomeVisitation of the B.V.M. is a Catholic parish located in Alexander, Illinois. Established in 1909, the parish was formed after the local Catholic community petitioned Bishop James Ryan for a separate church due to the challenges of traveling to the nearby Franklin parish. The church was completed in early 1910, with the first Mass celebrated by Reverend William Weigand on January 16, 1910. The parish was named in honor of the Feast of the Visitation, corresponding to the date Bishop Ryan's letter of appointment was received.
