Founded in 1965 to serve the Portuguese-speaking community, the parish officially dedicated its church building on October 11, 1975. The founding priest, Reverend Charles Medeiros Saudade, was succeeded by Reverend Jose da Silva Ferreira, who played a crucial role in realizing the vision of a dedicated worship space for the community.
