Founded under the guidance of Bishop Quinn, the church was built following a decision made on June 20, 1989, to appoint architects Iris Rossen and Associates to oversee the project. The parish honors Rev. Fr. Ned Kenny, who played a pivotal role in its establishment, with the baptismal font serving as a memorial to him.
