HomeCarmelite Chapel in the Northshore Mall, located in Peabody, Massachusetts, is a Catholic parish that opened on January 28, 1960, as the first Catholic chapel in a shopping mall in the United States. Originally dedicated by Cardinal Richard Cushing, the chapel's mission is to provide a peaceful retreat amidst daily life, offering spiritual services including Holy Mass, Reconciliation, and Anointing of the Sick. Since February 1, 2016, the chapel has been served by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, an order founded in 1831 by Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Adjacent to the chapel is a Catholic Gift Shop where visitors can purchase religious items and request Masses for loved ones.
