Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Batangas - Lipa

The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is a historic church in Batangas City, Philippines. Founded in 1614 under the advocation of the Immaculate Conception, the church was made an independent parish. The church was temporarily closed after being severely affected by the 2017 Batangas earthquakes. On 14 March 2022, Pope Francis granted the venerated Marian image a decree of canonical coronation. It was crowned later by the Apostolic Nuncio to the country, Archbishop Charles John Brown on 8 December the same year. The church has undergone several restorations and has a rich history, it was declared a minor basilica and the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santo Niño de Batangan on February 13, 1945, and January 16, 2022, respectively.
